About the Archive

The Houston Speed Map Archive allows users to view historical speed and travel time information from the Houston TranStar Traffic Monitoring System from a user specified date and time. The maps and data are archived by Houston TranStar every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The web interface gives users access to the archived maps. Users are prompted to select a map, date and time to view historical data from. The system then produces a map that shows how traffic conditions were at the date and time the user selects. Maps are available as far back as January 2012.
